After being accused of ignoring former President Donald Trump during the UFC 302 pay-per-view event at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, quarterback Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets posted a picture of himself shaking hands with the President.

Rodgers, who’s entering Year 2 with the New York Jets, appeared to snub Donald Trump as he walked side by side with UFC President Dana White into the arena.

However, Rodgers later took to social media to post a photo with Trump.

“(Handshake emoji) pic with President Trump,” Rodgers wrote in a photo showing the two on his Instagram story, which he called, “Priceless.”

Both were present for the highly anticipated event, which saw Islam Makhachev successfully defend his lightweight title by submitting Dustin Poirier with a D’Arce choke halfway through the fifth round, Sean Strickland defeat Paulo Costa, and Kevin Holland win by armbar submission.

Aaron Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP, and Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, are no strangers to controversy.

After a legendary career with the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets. He has frequently been in the news for his opinions on and off the field, as he does not mince words on things he believes in. Trump continues to be a major player in American politics in spite of his legal disputes, as his presidency and post-presidential acts continue to elicit strong sentiments.

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. previously confirmed that among his potential vice-presidential prospects was New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Soon, after that news, it was revealed that he stated deranged conspiracy theories about the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting not being real.

Rodgers responded to a CNN report that he cast doubt on the veracity of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, which killed 20 children and six adults.

“As I’m on the record saying in the past, what happened in Sandy Hook was an absolute tragedy,” Rodgers said in a statement on X.

“I am not and have never been of the opinion that the events did not take place. Again, I hope that we learn from this and other tragedies to identify the signs that will allow us to prevent unnecessary loss of life. My thoughts and prayers continue to remain with the families affected along with the entire Sandy Hook community.”
