The Denver Nuggets may be the best team in the NBA right now, but the best record in the league belongs to the Boston Celtics. For that reason alone, Nikola Jokic gives the Celtics all the praise in the world.

After the Nuggets defeated the Celtics on Thursday night, Nikola Jokic opened up about his potential NBA Finals competition.

“They are a really good team,” Jokic said. “They have basically an answer for everything, matchup-wise, defense-wise, offense-wise. They are really a well-built team, and they’re playing really good, you know. That’s why they are the best team in the NBA right now. It’s really hard to play against that team. They’re long, tall. They defend really good. They have really smart players. It’s a great team.”

 

For as good as the Boston Celtics are, the Denver Nuggets still own a 2-0 regular season sweep over them. If the NBA Finals were to start today, the Denver Nuggets would likely be the betting favorites over the Boston Celtics, regardless of how good their regular season record is.

However, no one can deny that the Boston Celtics are an absolute force this season. Time after time, they’ve beaten opponents down and have the best record in the league for a reason. Despite that, they still haven’t figured out a way to win games when they don’t make threes – that’s where Denver has the advantage.
