After winning four straight games and taking a 4-0 lead in the Eastern Conference finals series, the Boston Celtics finally advanced to the NBA finals. Al Horford, the Celtics’ center, consistently delivered great performances throughout the series. Following the Game 4 win and their advancement to the NBA finals, a video of the 39-year-old Celtics player’s celebration went viral on the internet. The video caught attention because it showed Horford’s son holding a can of Bud Light, a top beer brand in the United States, which is illegal for minors.
During the video, all the team players were seen throwing Bud Light beer at each other to celebrate the win, and Horford’s son was caught holding the beer can. However, it is still unclear whether his son drank the beer. Many fans are reacting differently after witnessing the child’s involvement in this illegal activity.
One fan wrote, “Sam had no interest in spraying the drink he was chugging,” while another fan reacted, “When this kid goes back to school, he has some history to talk about! The OG kid life.”
During the NBA playoffs, another video of Horford’s children went viral after the Celtics swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Conference semifinals. In the video, Horford’s daughter was seen hugging him and telling him how weird and sweaty he smelled.
Horford’s Contribution to the Celtics’ Success in ECF
Al Horford has been outstanding for his team in recent games. In game 1, he scored 15 points, had 1 assist, and grabbed 6 rebounds in 40 minutes of play. Then, in game 3, he scored 23 points and secured 5 rebounds, helping his team to a 3-0 lead against the Indiana Pacers.
Notably, during game 3, he made seven impressive 3-pointers in a row, becoming the oldest player in NBA history to achieve this feat in a single playoff game. However, in game 4, Horford only scored 7 points, but he did contribute 5 assists and eight rebounds in his 40 minutes of gameplay. Horford’s presence will be crucial for the Celtics in the NBA finals.
Horford will be back in action in game 1 of the NBA finals, which is scheduled for Friday, June 7, at TD Garden. The opposing team will be determined after the conclusion of the Western Conference finals series between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
