The Green Bay Packers could be without an important offensive player for the rest of the offseason and possibly the start of the 2024 regular season.
Tight end Tucker Kraft has revealed having suffered a nasty injury while working out that might turn your stomach just reading about it.
The TE, heading into his second year in the pros, told Sports Illustrated he was bench pressing when he tore his pectoral muscle, claiming it “popped right off the bone.”
“Just a regular lift,” he explained. “It was my last rep of the day on bench. Nothing crazy, not heavy weight. We were speed-benching and it just popped right off the bone.”
It’s uncertain as to when he will be able to return to playing, but such injuries typically take a few months to heal. Depending on his treatment, Kraft could be ready to play for the Packers by the beginning of next season and will have his fingers crossed.
“I’m just ready to take off in this league and establish myself as a football player, really. That’s where my frustration lies,” he said.
Tucker Kraft Had A Solid Rookie Season With The Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers drafted Tucker Kraft in the third round last year following a standout career at South Dakota State.
He had a solid rookie season, hauling 31 catches for 355 yards and two touchdowns.
Following their exploits in the playoffs, the Packers are considered contenders and could use a player like Kraft to further their ambitions. He has proven he can be depended upon in key moments.
They will hope to have him back by the time the season starts.
