After racing to a 2-0 lead in the series against the Nuggets, the Timberwolves stumbled for the first time this post-season on Friday. The reigning champions blew the Minnesota side out of the water to win 117-90 and Anthony Edwards took full responsibility for the setback.

After the game, the Timberwolves guard reflected on the game and found himself the one to be blamed for the loss. “It’s on me. I’ll take the blame for this loss. I came out with no energy at all. I can’t afford to do that for my team. I let my team down, the fans down,” said a dejected Ant-Man.

The courtside mics also picked up what Anthony Edwards was saying to his teammates after the loss. “We good fellas, man, it’s a series man. Aye it’s a series, bruh, it’s a series. We good. First to four games,” the 22-year-old said to keep his teammates motivated.

After back-to-back losses, the Nuggets responded in a brilliant fashion, but Anthony Edwards’ poor night out also helped their cause.

After a blazing start to the series with 43 and 27 points in the previous two games, Anthony Edwards looked shy of his best as he only managed to get 19 points on the board. Despite the low output, his 8-15 shooting was on par with his recent performances. His 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 block were not enough to slow down the rampant Nuggets led by Nikola Jokic, who was fresh off his MVP award win.

Jokic and Murray led the visitors’ scoring with 24 points each, though Joker recorded a double-double thanks to the 14 rebounds he grabbed.

For the Timberwolves, the scoring trend was on the lower side overall with Karl-Anthony Towns getting 14, Mike Conley getting 10 points, which made little difference to the scoreboard. The Wolves will host the Nuggets for game 4 at the Target Center on Sunday, where Anthony Edwards and Co. will look to bounce back after the crushing defeat.
