Jabari Smith Jr. and Kris Dunn’s Physical Altercation Lead to Their Ejection From the Game (Image Source: GettyImages)
Houston Rockets star Jabari Smith Jr. was recently involved in an altercation with the Jazz star Kris Dunn which resulted in both stars getting ejected. The incident spoiled the atmosphere of the game but the Rockets pulled through.
They were able to secure the win despite the absence of their center, however, the Jazz were unable to keep up without their guard. This is not the first time Jabari and Kris have faced each other this season.
Rockets’ Jabari Smith Jr. reacts after getting technical foul against The Wizards
The Rockets star Jabari Smith Jr. was ejected from the game against the Utah Jazz after the Rockets big man got himself involved in a scuffle with Jazz’s Kris Dunn. The video of the incident is going viral on social media and the fans are reacting to it. In the video, we can see Kris and Jabari shoving each other and then getting in close contact.
Dunn broke a rule and threw a punch that did not connect, however, according to the NBA rules throwing a punch gets you ejected. It doesn’t matter if it connects or not, these acts are considered highly unsportsmanlike and result in instant ejection. Jabari Smith Jr. was handed a technical foul for his over-aggressive behavior against Dunn and he was not happy after receiving it.
Rockets’ center could be impacted by Jabari’s absence
The Rockets will be impacted greatly if Smith keeps getting ejected in the upcoming games. Houston is trying their best to win and the Rockets are doing a good job at it. However, they are missing their main center Alperen Sengun as he got injured. Smith has been fulfilling the role of a center for Houston ever since Sengun has been injured.
He has been a great influence in Rockets games and an important pillar of their success. However, the Golden State Warriors are already above the Rockets, and if Houston wants to overtake them, they need to win as many matches as they can. So, Jabari Smith Jr. can’t afford to lose any more matches as his absence would hurt his team greatly.
What do you think of Jabari Smith Jr. and Kris Dunn getting into a fight? Do you think the Rockets can better their position before the regular season ends? We are eager to know your thoughts, so drop down in the comments and let us know.
