The New Orleans Pelican faced the Miami Heat in a close match battle and the Pels were able to emerge as the victorious one. However, this did not sit right with Jimmy Butler as he issued some statements that made him seem like a sour loser.
Butler is currently in great form and is delivering spectacular performances for the Miami Heat. However, his words after the loss against the Pelicans were not a good example of accepting the results and moving on.
Jimmy Butler reflects on Heat’s agonizing defeat to Pelicans
Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler appeared to be a sour loser after he suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of the New Orleans Pelicans. As he reflected on the agonizing defeat he said, “I am gonna stick by what I said, we are still the better team.” Butler’s statements reaffirmed his stance on the Miami Heat being a better team than the Pelicans.
In the previous matchup between the Heat and the Pelicans, Butler was involved in a big altercation along with four other players. All the players involved in the incident were suspended afterward as a disciplinary example. However, Butler issued some brave statements during his suspension, he proclaimed that the Heat were a better team and that they would beat the Pelicans the next time as well. However, it didn’t go as the Heat’s star planned.
Jimmy’s statement on Pelicans comes back to haunt him
Jimmy Butler issued some brave statements after his altercation with the Pelicans players However, those same statements have come back to haunt him as the Heat suffered a blowout loss against the Pelicans. The Miami Heat were unable to secure the win against the Pelicans after trying their best, they lost with a final score of 111-88.
This loss has had a haunting effect on Butler as his big words came to bite him back. Pelicans star, Naji Marshall was quick to troll Butler as he reposted the video of Butler claiming to beat Pelicans again. Along with his post, Marshall added a sarcastic joke and said, “The audio isn’t working, what did he say?” Even the official social media account of the New Orleans Pelicans trolled Butler for his statements.
