DALLAS, TX – MARCH 17: Kyrie Irving #11 of the Dallas Mavericks reacts late in the game against the Denver Nuggets in the second half at American Airlines Center on March 17, 2024 in Dallas, Texas.
The Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving recently made a lot of headlines after hitting an unbelievably amazing buzzer-beater to secure a big win for his team. He was featured in a lot of headlines and has become Dallas’ hero alongside Luka Doncic.
Recently after that amazing game, the former Cavs star talked about his transition to the Dallas camp. After staying with the Cleveland Cavaliers for a long time Kyrie decided to move, he stayed at a couple of teams before landing at Dallas. He recently opened up about his transition to the Mavs.
Kyrie Irving addresses his transition to Dallas
The former Cleaveland Cavaliers star Kyrie Irving earned his fame in the NBA when he was drafted by the Cavs. Soon he was playing with LeBron James who was arguably the best player in the league at that time. They both worked their hardest to get the Cavs a ring in their time together. However, after Bron left, Kyrie stayed for some time but realized that it was time for him to move as well.
Injuries plagued his career after he moved and he finally arrived in Dallas last year from the Brooklyn Nets. After making a full recovery from his injury, Kyrie was tasked to play alongside Luka Doncic who is currently one of the best players in the league. Irving has shined in his time with the Mavs showing his fans flares of his Cavs days with LeBron.
Irving opened up about his transition to Dallas and told his fans how he was accepted and the respect he received. “For me, it is just getting adjusted here, getting established as one of the community leaders…I think being here in Dallas I have been accepted way beyond just my talent on the court…” said Kyrie in a press conference. Kyrie’s former teammate LeBron had once called him a leader for the Cavs.
LeBron once put Kyrie as Cavaliers’ leaders
LeBron James and Kyrie Irving were one of the most lethal duos the NBA had ever seen. Their time together at the Cleveland Cavaliers was a night to many teams as they demolished their opponents pretty quickly. Kyrie was a perfect compliment to Bron and his game and they both drove the Cavs to a championship run in the 2015-16 season.
LeBron once named Kyrie as a Cavaliers‘ leader alongside him. “In order for us to reach our potential, myself and Kyrie have to take full responsibility for the team and everybody else that follows. If not our dream of winning the Championship would not happen,” said LeBron James in an interview. He named Kyrie Irving as an important figure alongside him at the Cavs. This goes to show the respect Bron has for Kyrie. Both of them are great friends and the Lakers star even appreciated Irving on his fantastic buzzer-beater.
