The New England Patriots have sent social media into a frenzy with a hilarious X/Twitter post which has left their fans confused.
Last week, former New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes shared several photos of his visit to team headquarters. In one of the photos, you can see what appears to be a newly-designed Patriots alternate logo:
Nothing has been announced by the organization or reported by prominent NFL insiders, but several folks on social media are already assuming that the Patriots will indeed reveal a new alternate logo:
The Patriots finally addressed the rumors on X/Twitter by posting this hilarious meme:
And now social media is losing their minds, completely unsure of what to believe:

The Patriots changed their jerseys before the 2020 season, following Tom Brady’s departure for Tampa Bay. The “Flying Elvis” logo has remained intact, however, and there’s no reason to believe they’re suddenly going to drop it after 30 years (and counting).
New England was football’s golden franchise in the Brady-Bill Belichick era, winning six Super Bowls and nine AFC Championships. Given how iconic and historically significant the current logo is, the Patriots know they have no reason to retire it.
A Brand New Era Of New England Patriots Football
For the first time since 1999, the New England Patriots enter a season without the legendary Bill Belichick roaming the sidelines.
Belichick and the Patriots parted ways following a miserable 4-13 season, the franchise’s worst record since 1992. It also marked the third time in four years that the Pats finished with a losing season and missed out on the playoffs.
Belichick was replaced by Jerod Mayo, a former Pro Bowl linebacker who spent five seasons as the Patriots’ inside linebackers coach before being promoted. Mayo played for the Pats from 2008 to 2015, earning two Pro Bowl selections and a Super Bowl ring in the 2014 season.
