This is only the first of several fresh jersey reveals, and fans are already loving them:
The Texans entered the league as an expansion franchise back in 2002, making them the youngest NFL team. The club has hardly changed its uniforms throughout their 22-year history, so it’ll be interesting to see what the full set looks like when they’re revealed next month.
Houston is coming off a surprise AFC South division title-winning season. They defeated the Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card Round before falling to Lamar Jackson and the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional Round.
A New Era Of Houston Texans Football
The Houston Texans may have reached the AFC Divisional Round in 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2019, but none of those groups ever came close to a Super Bowl championship.
This current Texans squad, however, looks well-suited to compete for the Super Bowl for years to come. Led by head coach DeMeco Ryans and young stars C.J. Stroud, Nico Collins, Tank Dell, Will Anderson Jr. and Derek Stingley Jr., the Texans are built to win both now and over the next five-plus years.
GM Nick Caserio added pass-rushing stalwart Danielle Hunter in free agency and acquired four-time 1,000-yard rusher Joe Mixon via trade with the Cincinnati Bengals.
With the Texans’ championship window just starting to open now, it’s only fitting that they put a cherry on top of the blossoming offseason by introducing new jerseys to the most promising era of football in franchise history.
