The NFL’s two Pennsylvania teams shook up the quarterback landscape on Friday, with the Pittsburgh Steelers trading former first-round draft pick Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles.

The move paved the way for Russell Wilson to be the starter in Pittsburgh.

For Philly, they are already set with Jalen Hurts, but it looks like they had something bigger in mind before that deal.

Before the Philadelphia Eagles acquired quarterback Kenny Pickett from the Pittsburgh Steelers, it appears they checked in on Justin Fields.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano reported on SportsCenter that the Eagles had discussions with the Chicago Bears about a deal for Justin Fields prior to landing Pickett.

“The Eagles, from what I understand talking to sources around the league, were one of the teams that had talked to the Bears about Justin Fields, but obviously could not get to the point where they agreed on a price, so they traded for Pickett,” Graziano said.

The Eagles acquired Pickett and a 2024 fourth-round pick (No. 120) from the Steelers on Friday in exchange for a 2024 third-round pick (No. 98) and two 2025 seventh-round picks.

The Bears have been searching for a trade partner for Fields and have so far been unlucky as other teams are making other moves to fill the position. It leads you to believe that the team may be asking for way too much back in compensation for a player that everybody knows they are moving on from.

Maybe a team like the Vikings will come calling as they lost Kirk Cousins in free agency and recently signed Sam Darnold.
