The Minnesota Timberwolves looked like a strong team when they went 2-0 up against the reigning NBA champions, the Denver Nuggets. However, some assumed things were not going as strongly in the Minnesota locker room as they looked on the surface after Anthony Edwards openly criticized teammate Karl-Anthony Towns in the presser.

Although Towns is performing well in the post-season tournament, he struggled in round one of the playoffs against the Phoenix Suns, where he kept getting into trouble because of fouls. After winning the series, Edwards spoke about it in the postgame press conference. “Let me just say, tonight, he wasn’t in foul trouble. The first three games, the motherf**ker just kept fouling. What did I tell you last game? … ‘KAT, we not gonna win Game 4 if you keep fouling,” said the guard.

While Towns was on the “Rich Eisen Show,” he was asked to address Ant-Man’s remark about him, and he simply said, “We brothers and I love the growth we have so, we’re brothers. I’ve never…take any of that [to the heart]. It comes from a place of love.” (After 6:20)

With his reply, Towns refuted the theories of those who felt there was a rift between the teammates. He further added words of appreciation for Edwards and expressed how happy he was to witness Edwards’ growth. The admiration is not one-sided, as Edwards too showed high regard for his teammate.

Anthony Edwards Labels His Partnership With Karl-Anthony Towns “Best Duo in the League”

After carrying his team to the 3rd spot of the Western Conference table in the regular season alongside Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards emphasized the impact KAT has on the Timberwolves team.

During an interview last month, the guard confidently said, “Me and Karl Anthony-Towns are the best duo in the league.” In the regular season, Edwards contributed 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.3 steals, while the center/forward put up 21.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3 assists per game while displaying outstanding shooting skills.

The chemistry between the duo helped the team succeed multiple times and continues to do so in the first two games of the second-round playoffs. With their strong partnership, the Wolves will certainly try to overcome their Game 3 90-117 loss.
