Britney Spears rolls around on bed in steamy video
The sitcom actress, 55, “reached out” within days of the 42-year-old Toxic singer’s latest public drama last month when an ambulance raced to celebrity LA hotel Chateau Marmont following reports Britney had been injured.
Fans now fear the Oops…I Did it Again star is spiraling out of control as disastrously as she did in 2007 and 2008, when she shaved her head, attacked paparazzi with an umbrella and twice landed in hospital psychiatric wards.
Britney also briefly lost custody of her two sons and saw all her assets placed legally under her father’s control during a bitter, 13-year court conservatorship order that almost tore her family apart.
But sources close to Jennifer Aniston say she is hoping to take the wayward singer under her wing, with one confirming: “She’s extremely worried about Britney – and where she might be heading again.”
Jennifer was inspired to step-in, the source adds, when Britney posted a “cool” photo of the actress, sitting on a director’s chair with a cigarette in her hand, from the set of her 2002 movie The Good Girl, along with a rambling, cryptic message that said in part: “You know when you grow up and realise set-ups aren’t just in movies? They can be in real life too and when they are in real life they can be illegal!!!!”
The source went on: “That post really got Jen’s attention and she saw it as a sign that the door might be open for her to help. She asked her agent to contact Britney’s agent to arrange a meeting.”
The actress is said to be “especially on edge” over Britney’s downward spiral following the recent death of her Friends co-star Matthew Perry, who struggled with drug and alcohol addictions before being found dead in his hot tub last October at the age of 54.
“After the tragedy that befell her beloved Matty, Jen feels compelled to try to do something for Britney,” a second source added, noting that the actress also befriended fellow singer Selena Gomez during a personal crisis.
“Jen wants Britney to know she has a friend waiting in the wings to help without being judgmental.”
