Veteran forward Otto Porter Jr. has called it a career, announcing his retirement from the NBA after 11 seasons on Monday.

Porter, who was a member of the Golden State Warriors’ 2022 championship team, was due to be waived by the Utah Jazz earlier on Monday, per Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

“For the past 11 years, I had the chance to live my lifelong dream of playing in the NBA,” Porter said. “That dream was capped by winning an NBA Championship! Unfortunately, my body is not allowing me to play at the level that I expect of myself, and I have therefore decided to retire.”

Porter entered the NBA as the third overall pick of the 2013 draft by the Washington Wizards. He was traded to the Chicago Bulls in 2019 and then to the Orlando Magic in 2021. He signed a one-year deal with the Warriors for the 2021-22 campaign, and he signed a two-year deal with the Toronto Raptors that offseason.

Unfortunately, foot injuries limited Porter to just 23 combined games in the last two seasons for the Raptors. He was traded to the Jazz as part of a four-player deal last month but didn’t play any games for the team.

Porter appeared in 527 games in his career and averaged 10.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals. He was a career 39.7 percent shooter from three-point range. During the Warriors’ run to the 2022 title, he shot 40.4 percent from beyond the arc.

Prior to entering the NBA, the 30-year-old starred at Georgetown and was named the 2013 Big East Player of the Year.
