Aaron Taylor-Johnson is reuniting with director David Leitch after Bullet Train for the upcoming action comedy film The Fall Guy. The film, which has Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in the lead, has Johnson playing a movie star that goes missing, with Gosling’s character tasked to investigate what happened. Johnson talked to Numero.com about his recurring role in the film.

Johnson stated that Leitch approached him for the special role that he thought would amuse him. Originally, the role was meant to be a cameo, but later, the character became a MacGuffin that has a recurring presence throughout the film. Johnson calls the film an audacious experience that will make people smile. He said,

“I had already worked with the director, David Leitch, on Bullet Train. Two weeks before shooting started on The Fall Guy, with Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, David had the idea of calling me to offer me a role he thought I would be great for and that would amuse me.At the beginning, it was only going to be a simple appearance, even if a little more than just a cameo, rather a sort of MacGuffin that would recur throughout the story. So it was for laughs and, we had a lot of fun. It’s an audacious film that sets out to make the audience smile.”
