Behind the Curtain: Billie Eilish’s Candid Revelation on Why Removing Social Media Was a Game-Changer

Social networking is becoming less of a focus for Billie Eilish. The “Happier Than Ever” singer disclosed that she removed all social media apps from her phone on March 1 during an interview on the podcast “Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend.” She described this action as “such a huge deal” for her.

According to Eilish, who “grew up in the perfect time of the internet,” she was happy that the majority of her childhood was spent in a time when the internet was not so “internet-y that I did not have a childhood.” But having been around when iPhones first came out, she soon lost interest in social media and the subjects that are talked about on such platforms.

“Those were my people when I was a preteen and a teenager on the internet. She answered, “I was one of them.” “Just keep doing what I have been doing over the years, and eventually the things I see online and the videos I watch will be about me.” I think, “Ew! Stinky!” That is not to my taste.”

“It just is very strange and then it makes me like, ‘Wow, how much was a lie that I was reading when I was looking at the internet all those years?’”

Eilish even remembered a period of time when a video disparaging her appeared online when she was with her boyfriend, Jesse Rutherford. “It was as if Billy Eilish were a bad person. After that, there was a really somber video that showed why,” she said.

“The individual was speaking all of these things and appeared to be in the appropriate frame of mind. I thought, “Jeez, wow.” I simply live in such a strange universe. I think, ‘That is my face. My name is that. I am that. Well, that is interesting. Alright. Okay.

They know these claims are true because, in some way, they were informed by someone. “This is the truth about Billie, and you know it for a fact,” remarked God as he descended. “Even though you do not know her, you know that this is the truth.

You have to tell everyone about it, and they will all believe it,” she went on, stating that she gets “freaked out” by that part of the internet. “… It is simply so bizarre that it makes me wonder, “Wow, how much of what I was reading online all those years was a lie?”

It is not just Eilish who has absconded from social media. Selena Gomez most recently said that she is leaving TikTok in response to rumors circulated by fans about a supposed dispute between the “Only Murders in the Building” actress and Hailey Bieber on the video platform. Justin Bieber, Gomez’s former boyfriend, is Bieber’s spouse.

In August 2022, Tom Holland also took a break from social media, but not before he congratulated Zendaya on her comeback to the red carpet with a heart-eye emoji remark on one of her most recent Instagram images.
