While a few in the industry are comparing her and her father’s relationship to that between Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun, the source assured that although firm, Dugi will prioritise his daughter’s best interests.

Discussing Dua’s new strategy to ensure she possesses ownership of her songs, the source explained: ‘Essentially, the move also has echoes of Taylor Swift — a huge female pop star rewriting the narrative and making money on her own terms.

This week Dua was mentioned alongside Harry Styles and Ed Sheeran as the British stars who collectively contributed to UK music export raking in £4Billion in 2022.

And while her previous deal with TaP saw her giving away around 20 per cent of her income, now with the help of her father she will be able to hopefully retain everything she earns.

New music! Dua could be set to soar back into the UK charts very son as her new single, Houdini, is set to be released on Thursday (performing in California last December)

She parted ways with the firm in February 2022 and has since been managed by her father.

And the star could be set to soar back into the UK charts very son as her new single, Houdini, is set to be released on Thursday.

While fans can’t wait to hear the star’s new music, one lucky passerby was treated to a sneaky preview on Tuesday.

Dua shocked her fans as she surprised an unsuspecting passerby in London with a preview of her upcoming single.

One lucky person got to listen to the new song early after being surprised by Dua and Greg James outside the BBC studios for his BBC Radio 1 show.

The Levitating hitmaker and the radio presenter, 37, tried to blend in with the public as they sat outside a coffee shop.

The duo hilariously held up newspapers with eye holes cut out to hide their faces behind, as they watched the street to choose the lucky individual.

Once she and Greg had chosen their unsuspecting passerby, they jumped up and ran over to man.

Immediately the trio were surrounded by BBC staff wearing hi-vis vests, who swung colourful flags.

One staff member even dangled a glittering disco ball from a stepstool, while others held up a sign that read: ‘Congratulations, you are the first person to hear Dua Lipa’s brand new song’.

Dua and Greg could be seen to be giggling as they let the lucky man listen to the song through headphones.
