Henry Cavill’s Condition to Play a Marvel Character
The first significant role that Henry Cavill played on the screen was of Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk in Showtime’s The Tudors. His first major big-screen role came with Tarsem Singh’s fantasy film Immortals, released in 2011.

Rumors surrounding Cavill’s casting in some of the greatest franchises have been there since the beginning of his career. For instance, he was the cause of a write-in effort from fans to have him cast as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He was also one of the casting choices for the role of Superman long before he played the character in 2013’s Man of Steel.
The most recent rumor about the Enola Holmes actor is his casting as the supervillain Doctor Doom in the MCU, which would mark his debut in the franchise through the upcoming The Fantastic Four reboot. There are quite a few other Marvel characters that he is well-suited for.
Now that he is replaced by David Corenswet as Superman, Cavill could make his MCU debut. However, he has a condition which he revealed during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter while saying which character he would like to play in the MCU:
“I’m never going to say a Marvel character that is already being played by someone else, because everyone’s doing such an amazing job.” Henry Cavill’s reluctance to play an existing MCU character is understandable. He also noted that he would like to portray Brian Braddock’s Captain Britain.

Fans have their ideas for Cavill’s MCU debut, but The Witcher star also has something in his mind for the same. He wishes to play Captain Britain as he told The Hollywood Reporter:
“I have the internet and I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain and that would be loads of fun to do a cool, modernized version of that — like the way they modernized Captain America. There’s something fun about that, and I do love being British.”
It is great to know that the English actor would love to do a modern take on the Marvel Comics hero. As of now, it is hard to tell which superhero or supervillain the actor is going to play until any official announcements are made.
