“AT WHAT AGE DO YOU THINK CHILDREN SHOULD USE SMART PHONES?”:Katie Price bans daughter Bunny, 9, from having a phone as she opens up on ‘major problems’ with social media-HO

Katie Price has implemented a phone ban for her youngest daughter due to significant issues with social media. She mentioned observing a noticeable change in her daughter when she doesn’t have access to social media.

The former glamour model said that she took Bunny’s phone off her after the nine-year-old ‘broke her trust’.

During her podcast, The Katie Price Show, Katie Price and her sister Amy delved into the complexities of parenting in the age of social media.

Katie started by expressing her concerns about social media, emphasizing the need to restrict its use for young children. She revealed her own challenges with her daughter Bunny, citing past major issues. Despite her efforts to block and implement parental locks on social media, Bunny, being resourceful, finds ways to bypass them, leading to trouble.

Katie elaborated that Bunny is drawn to social media because she sees her friends and family members using it, and she wants to be a part of it too.

“So now she actually hasn’t had a phone for four weeks. And in those four weeks she admits shes doing more horse riding, she’s outside more, she can’t argue with friends, there’s none of these group chats, and I’m getting less parcels in the post from her ordering stuff,” she continued.

The mum-of-five said that her daughter has “changed” since not having her phone.

“I’ve said if she wants a phone so she can talk to her dad, he can get her that Nokia phone, an old school one where I think the only game on it is Snake,” she laughed.

Katie has come under criticism over the past few years for Bunny’s presence on YouTube.

The youngster has been banned several times from the site after violating the age restriction rules.

The minimum age allowed to share videos on the video platform is 13, and Bunny is only nine.

In January this year she posted a video of herself “almost dying” on the site.

The video showed Bunny larking around during her New Year’s sleepover with her mum at Kerry Katona’s massive mansion.

Bunny uploaded a short video of her swinging on what appeared to be a gymnastics bar, before falling to the floor below.

Fortunately, some stuffed toys caught her fall, and she burst out laughing. However, she captioned the footage “#almost died”.

Bunny’s social media use has also caused arguments between Katie and her ex-husband Kieran Hayler, 36.

Back in November, Kieran slammed Katie for letting Bunny film online content, asking, “Where is the parental protection and safe guarding?”

She was also banned from TikTok for being underage, with the platform setting a strict thirteen-plus age requirement.

Last month Bunny shared another video on YouTube, where she posted a string of lip-syncing clips.

In another video, she is seen looking downcast as she holds a piece of paper with hurtful words written on it: “No one likes you. Your fat. You have no friends. Your little brother will forget about you.” Bunny captioned it with sad and crying emojis.

A source told The Sun: “I was so shocked when I saw it. Kieran and Katie have been at war over Bunny’s social media for months but clearly Katie doesn’t care.

“Bunny shows off her bedroom with clothes and litter everywhere and make-up smeared over the house.

“I don’t know why Katie doesn’t delete it.”
