Several celebrities have admitted they don’t shower every day, with one confessing they were like a ‘hamster’…

FROM attending A-list parties, travelling the world by private jet to enjoying expensive shopping sprees, the rich and famous live the most luxurious lives – for the most part.

But while they can afford all the finer things in life, that’s not to say they aren’t guilty of letting their standards slip from time to time, and slumming it like the rest of us.

In fact, sometimes their bad habit confessions have left fans stunned, and just recently talk show host Jonathan Ross, 63, admitted he rarely showers.

Speaking to Josh Widdicombe on the Parenting Hell podcast, he said: “I sometimes go at least a week without showering – at least. So does [my wife] Jane sometimes.

“We’re like a couple of hamsters in their own straw in that bed.”

But it’s not just Jonathan who has admitted to some strange shower habits, with tonnes of other celebrities also making some rather unusual bathroom confessions over the years…

Snacking in the shower

Hollywood superstar Jessica Biel caused confusion when she admitted she loves to eat in the shower and desperately wants her strange habit to catch on.

The 42-year-old actress revealed in December she loves to snack in the shower, and even drinks her coffee while she’s cleaning herself.

In a recent TikTok she addressed the camera directly to share the secrets of her success and encourage other people to get into it.

“I’m just so thrilled everyone is so interested. I really want to start a movement, a shower-eating movement,” she said.

“I think, for people who are multitasking, it’s just going to be a relief in so many ways.”

The biggest tip to shower snack success, according to Jessica, is to make sure you keep your mouth shut so the water doesn’t get in.

It also helps to have a ledge in your shower to balance your snacks on so they don’t get soaked.

Amanda Holden’s sexy slip-up

Listeners of Heart Radio’s breakfast show got more than they bargained for when host Amanda Holden revealed she and her husband Chris like to get frisky in the shower.

In a conversation with her co-host Jamie Theakston about which way Brits stand in the shower, the 53-year-old said she gets in the shower, then usually turns around.

“So, you’re facing towards the shower to begin with?” Jamie asked, leaving her to inappropriately add: “But only for sex…like…”

Amanda leapt to correct herself, saying she meant to say “seconds” to which Jamie cheekily responded “that’s another discussion for another day!” as the pair giggled.

‘Peeing in the shower is really good’

Madonna, often dubbed the Queen of Pop, has managed to surprise even the likes of David Letterman with her candid remarks. In a memorable appearance on his show back in 1994, Madonna shared her unorthodox belief that peeing in the shower was beneficial.

During the interview, which was characterized by its eccentricity and included Madonna asking David to smell her underwear, she boldly asserted that urinating in the shower was “really good.” Despite the audience’s laughter and Letterman’s incredulity, Madonna elaborated on her reasoning, suggesting that urine possesses antiseptic properties due to the enzymes in the body.

In response, Letterman humorously quipped, “Don’t you know a good pharmacist?” illustrating the lighthearted banter that often characterized his interactions with guests on the show.

Only washing ‘the important bits’

Loose Women co-host Stacey Solomon, 34, shocked her fellow panellists and viewers when she admitted she frequently goes days without showering.

The mum of three confessed she only washes “the important bits” on days where she doesn’t feel like taking a full shower.

She also added she didn’t think daily showers were good for “your hair and your skin and stuff”.

The confession set X (formerly Twitter) on fire with some people calling Stacey “absolutely minging” for her hygiene habits.

However others admitted they sympathised, saying they often didn’t find time for a daily shower.

Cold showers to cope with sex scenes

Oscar-winner Emma Stone had a secret shower tip for getting through all the raucous sex scenes she had to film for her starring role in the film ‘Poor Things’.

In the film “Poor Things,” 35-year-old actress Emma Stone adopted a unique ritual to unwind after intense shoots. Upon advice from her intimacy coordinator, she incorporated cold showers into her routine to “wash the day away.”

Portraying the character Bella Baxter, who grapples with intense sexual desires, meant challenging scenes for Emma. To ensure her comfort during filming, her intimacy coordinator, Elle McAlpine, provided exercises for Emma to perform in the shower.

Describing the practice, Elle mentioned that Emma’s days were “bookended” with cold showers, offering a method to help her cope with the vulnerability that sometimes accompanies such scenes. Elle further explained that despite the body’s resilience, it can struggle to distinguish between fantasy and reality during emotionally charged performances.

‘Mortifying’ builder blunder

One contractor got more than he bargained for when he turned up at musician Myleene Klass’s home, only to accidentally see the singer starkers.

In 2018, Myleene tweeted: “Just walked straight out of the shower, smack bang into the builder and now my daughter wants me to apologise to him for ‘scarring his mind.’

She added that her “face was on fire” when he later chatted to her, saying: “I can’t make eye contact and he’s just chatting away..I genuinely hoped he hadn’t recognised me…not the case.”

The 46-year-old songstress talked about the embarrassing mistake to her friend and radio host Carol Vorderman.

She said she had been showering when her daughter came running in asking where the dry shampoo was.

Wanting to help, Myleene hopped out of the shower to go and fetch it, saying: “So I ran out to go and grab it, not knowing that my boyfriend had let the builder into the house.

“We basically, in front of my daughter, ran straight into each other. I was absolutely mortified.”

The builder wasn’t too fussed however, with Myleene saying he had got in touch after she posted the incident on Twitter, saying he was “a hero down the pub”.

Washing ‘pits, t**s, holes & soles’

Hollywood power couple Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher caused a huge debate when they declared they only washed their kids if they could see visible dirt on them.

Mila, 40, and Ashton, 46 – who were co-stars on That 70’s Show and have been married since 2015 – share two children together, Wyatt Isabelle, nine, and Dimitri Portwood, seven.

On an episode of Dax Shepard’s podcast ‘Armchair Expert,’ Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis openly shared their approach to bathing their kids, revealing they didn’t bathe them frequently. They admitted to maintaining similar habits themselves.

Ashton expressed their philosophy, stating, “If you can see the dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there’s no point.”

Mila further elaborated on her personal hygiene routine, confessing, “I don’t wash my body with soap every day,” but clarified that she does clean specific areas like “pits and t**s and holes and soles.”

Peeing in the shower quip

While competing in the 2019 series of ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here’, Caitlyn Jenner had her fellow campmates in stitches over her clever quip about peeing in the shower.

During a conversation among castmates including Roman Kemp, Myles Stephenson, and Amy Whyment, all of whom admitted to occasionally urinating in the shower, 74-year-old Caitlyn Jenner was asked if she had ever done the same. The discussion touched on the idea of aiming the stream down the drain as a playful challenge.

Caitlyn, formerly known as Bruce Jenner before her transition in 2015, humorously responded, “Put it this way, it’s not as much fun as it used to be.” Her witty remark left the camp in stitches.

Showering… on the loo

Carol Vorderman, the glamorous former Countdown star, recently made the switch from her £2.6 million mansion to a £100,000 luxury campervan. However, life on the road comes with its challenges.

The 62-year-old recently shared that she faces a unique bathroom situation in her mobile home. Due to the limited space, Carol revealed that she has to shower while sitting on the toilet.

She explained the setup, saying, “In my van, I’ve got a little shower area. When I say little, I mean little – tiny. So small that you can’t actually stand up in it.”

To address this issue, Carol designed the space with a compost toilet, allowing her to sit down while showering. She reasoned, “Because when you stand up to have a shower you need more room for your arms. Whereas if you have a sit-down shower, which you can perfectly well do, you don’t need as much space in the van.”
