Fans previously called for Katie to be banned from owning animals

KATIE Price has revealed the unusual name she has given her new £1.2k cat.

In February, the former glamour model bought a sphynx cat and decided to name it as a heartfelt tribute to her son Harvey.

Katie recently posted a heartwarming photo on Instagram, featuring her hairless cat lounging comfortably on a rug.

She wrote: “Frog is comfy tonight.”

The name is a tribute to her son Harvey, who has a fondness for frogs. Harvey is Katie’s son from her relationship with former international and Premier League footballer Dwight Yorke.

The post garnered a flood of comments from concerned fans, with one writing: “I thought she was banned from owning animals.”

A second said: “Wonder how long this one will last.”

A third added: “How long until you give this one up? You don’t deserve animals and the @rspca should get involved.”

The concerns arise from past incidents where several animals have died under Katie’s care in recent years. Some of these animals were involved in road traffic accidents near her £1.3 million mansion in Sussex.

Last month People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), offered Katie £5,000 in exchange for signing a legally binding agreement that means she won’t own another animal.

However, she hasn’t accepted this offer and instead claimed she has allegedly “tried to speak to PETA many times”.

A petition has been initiated on change.org, urging for the ban of Katie, a mother of five, from owning animals. It implores organizations like the RSPCA and PETA to prevent the reality star from acquiring more pets. As of now, over 36,700 individuals have signed this petition.

Despite previous reports suggesting otherwise, Katie, 45, shared images on her recent Instagram Stories featuring the short-haired cat seated on her laptop. The tan-colored sphynx cat occupied the keyboard, hindering the star from completing her tasks. Jokingly, Katie remarked in her caption, “Suppose to be work time.” Later, she informed her followers that she resorted to reading magazines, implying that the feline refused to move.

This new addition to her household follows our exclusive report revealing that the mother of five had given away her most recent puppy because it no longer met the criteria for Instagram cuteness.

Tank, the adorable dog, is no longer under Katie’s care after being welcomed into her family home last year. Tank was the seventh pet residing in her West Sussex residence, known as the Mucky Mansion, but has since been entrusted to her electrician.

Peta’s proposition

The arrangement with Tank came shortly before PETA’s offer to the TV star.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has offered the TV personality £5,000 in exchange for signing a legally binding agreement promising never to acquire another animal.

PETA said that “things have gone horribly wrong with many of the animals under her supervision” – with at least seven dying, while others have been sold or given away.

In a letter to the star, they wrote: “While your intentions may be good, the ever-growing number of animals who have either died under your supervision or been given away is impossible to ignore, and people are rightly concerned.”

“Whatever you may offer as reasons for their suffering, relinquishment, or demise, the fact is that you are consistently harming these sensitive, sentient individuals, and I hope you agree that this is a solution,” the PETA Vice President Elisa Allen added.

Sad history

Back in September 2021, Katie gave away daughter Princess’ dog Precious to a crew member on herTV series.

At the time, an official petition to stop her having pets in her care reached 35,712 signatures.

It came after Peta (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) slammed Katie after the tragic death of her protection dog Blade last August.

In her defence, Katie explained police were investigating Blade’s passing after he was hit by a car.

It happened just seven months after another of Katie’s dogs, Sharon, was killed on the same road.

A driver picked the Pomeranian off the A24 and took her to Arun Vets in Pulborough, West Sussex, who confirmed the death.

The year before that, a delivery driver hit her alsatian, Queenie, who was gifted to her by ex Kieran Hayler on her 38th birthday.

In 2020 a second alsatian, Sparkle, was hit by a car after escaping onto the A24.
