Sharon’s disdain for Simon Cowell was evident as she criticized those who spoke negatively about him, emphasizing his role in their success. She likened the situation to the tale of Cinderella, suggesting a sense of betrayal among colleagues. Despite their once close working relationship on The X Factor, tensions arose following Sharon’s departure from the show in 2017, leading to public spats. While Louis maintains a friendship with Simon, Sharon’s remarks hinted at lingering animosity. She also alleged that Simon’s influence cost her a role on The Masked Singer U.S. panel.
Sharon revealed that she declined a significant role because she believed she would be returning to The X Factor, only to be dropped unexpectedly. She attributed their dismissal from the show to ageism, expressing her frustration to Louis during a candid conversation. Sharon’s words hinted at ongoing tension with Simon, suggesting that their feud remains unresolved. She criticized Simon for his tendency to sever relationships rather than maintain them.
“Why do you think I am so f****g mad with Simon because remember that year you and I were contracted to do X Factor? And it was the first year of The Masked Singer in America and they asked me to do it and I said I can’t because of X Factor with Simon.
“So then they cast it and then when Simon, well he didn’t call, but they called and said ‘No you’re not doing it [X Factor]’ I missed a huge gig. So I was furious.”
She continued: “Do you remember everything that year in the press? They’re old, young blood. I went mad.
“And then he called me. He was trying to sweet talk me. He would always say change, change, change. You’re the one that needs changing mate.”
Raging, she added: “Someone who dresses the same for three decades, they don’t see that it’s not right. No one’s gonna tell him but everything, the same, the same, the same.”
Louis admitted he no longer speaks to the music mogul, saying: “I haven’t talked to him at all, nothing. Zero.”
Viewers at home were captivated by the unfolding drama and flocked to social media to share their thoughts.
One person said: “Sharon & Louis just absolutely destroying Simon Cowell and The X Factor.”
A second added: “I cannot get enough of Sharon and Louis bitching about everyone and anyone.”
While a third remarked: “Louis and Sharon shading Simon and everyone in the industry…OH TV IS SO BACK.”

Following her departure from the daytime show amid reported tensions with Phillip, Fern Britton has maintained a low profile. However, her recent appearance on the ITV contest has sparked speculation about her return to television. Fern’s guest appearance on the show, where she was interviewed by new hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, received positive feedback from the crew. With Phillip no longer on the show, ITV executives are reportedly keen to reintegrate Fern into their lineup. While she may not return to her former role on This Morning, opportunities for Fern as a regular cover presenter on Lorraine or as a panelist on Loose Women are being considered.
According to a source, ITV executives are eager to utilize Fern Britton’s talent and experience in broadcasting as much as possible, aligning with her willingness to commit to new opportunities. With her esteemed reputation and popularity among British viewers, Fern is seen as a valuable asset for ITV daytime programming. The departure of Phillip from the channel has opened up various avenues for Fern, as his significant influence no longer dictates decisions. This change in dynamics presents Fern with fresh opportunities to reestablish herself within ITV. Despite not expecting immediate high-profile roles following her exit from CBB, Fern expressed her enthusiasm for rediscovering the “magic of television.”
Fern originally begun appearing on This Morning in 1999 and was given the role of lead host in 2002 and was eventually joined by Phillip later in the year.
However, the star quit in 2009 after relations with Phillip soured.
