Now, Zendaya is engaging in the discourse surrounding child actors, reflecting on her early days of fame when she started working at just 14 years old.
In a May cover story for Vogue, timed to her upcoming film Challengers set to release on Apr. 26, Zendaya shared her nuanced perspective on the intersection of kids and fame, particularly in the context of being a child actor. She expressed complex feelings about navigating the public eye at such a young age and the challenges that come with it.

“We’ve seen a lot of cases of it being detrimental,” she said. “I think only now, as an adult, am I starting to go, Oh, OK, wait a minute: I’ve only ever done what I’ve known, and this is all I’ve known.”
Starting at such a young age and providing for her family made the actress grow up very quickly.
“I felt like I was thrust into a very adult position: I was becoming the breadwinner of my family very early, and there was a lot of role-reversal happening, and just kind of becoming grown, really,” she explained. She added that in this current stage of her life, she feels like she’s “almost going through my angsty teenager phase now, because I didn’t really have the time to do it before.”

As Zendaya continues to promote her highly anticipated tennis film, co-starring alongside Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor, her red carpet appearances have been nothing short of impressive. However, amidst the glitz and glamour, Zendaya revealed that her childhood experiences of striving for perfection and living up to high expectations have left her with some self-doubt as she gears up for the release of her significant movie.
Reflecting on her journey, Zendaya expressed feeling a sense of pressure and tension, especially as she prepares for her first leading role in a theater-released film. She admitted to struggling to fully embrace and enjoy the magnitude of her achievements, acknowledging that the weight of past expectations still lingers, hindering her ability to simply experiment and take risks without fear of failure.
“And I wish I went to school,” she added.

After a long absence from prestigious red carpets, Zendaya returned with a series of classic, cinematic fashion images with archival outfits from fashion houses Valentino, Bob Mackie and Prada.

The 26-year-old actress has continuously appeared at prestigious red carpet events and constantly refreshes her image with different outfits. On the red carpet of the 2023 SAG Awards event, Zendaya offered a hot seductive image wearing a pastel pink strapless dress. Valentino’s silk Haute Couture design covered in flowers marked her first appearance at this annual film and television event.
The flowers are skillfully placed to resemble an impressive train. The fashion house revealed that up to 190 roses were arranged above this strapless dress.
The Disney Channel princess wore her hair in an elegant curly bob, sporting a spring makeup look that included light pink eyeshadow and pink lips. She wore plenty of sparkling Bulgari jewelry – a statement diamond necklace with three colorful gemstones and a pair of sparkling stud earrings.
The Spider-Man: Homecoming star is currently dating co-star Tom Holland – nominated in the Outstanding Actress category for her role in the drama series Euphoria.
Soon after, the Euphoria star changed from the dreamy rose-covered dress she wore on the red carpet at the 2023 SAG Awards with a sexy slip dress as she made her way inside the awards show.

This slip dress shows off a bold color block style. Still sticking to the pink theme, Zendaya presented the event’s first award in a long, flowing dress. The design stands out with a black sequined bra, mixed with a blue strip on the side and sweet pastel pink borders. The actress also added a chunky diamond necklace to her new outfit and kept her hair and makeup fresh just like on the red carpet.
A day earlier, to attend the 2023 NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles, the 26-year-old actress wore a black couture dress with classic green streaks. This is a design made from silk fabric in Versace’s Spring 2002 collection.
Zendaya’s classic seductive look is created thanks to a design that creates emphasis that draws the eye to her bust. The actress shows off her slim shoulders and dark skin thanks to a bold gap, and a high thigh slit to reveal revealing black high heels. She combined her outfit with a series of sparkling jewelry on her neck, fingers and ears.
Later that evening, Zendaya wowed in another memorable look. This time she wore a design from Prada’s Spring 1993 collection. Outfit set made from white satin silk fabric, including crop top and cut out maxi skirt with stylized sun image. With this series of outstanding images, gen Z stars have risen to the top of the trend of bringing classic fashion to the red carpet.
Zendaya is famous for her preference for classic style when attending prestigious red carpets.
