The actor known for his role in 1923, was tragically found dead on Friday, April 5, after going missing days prior. Cole Brings Plenty’s death has led to an outpouring of tributes from fans.

The body of Cole Mang Plenty, the grandson of “Yellowstone” star Mo Mang Plenty, was discovered by the Johnson County Sheriff in Kansas on Friday. He was 27 years old.

The sheriff stated in a statement provided to Fox News Digital: “Deputies were dispatched to the area of 200 and Homestead Lane to address an abandoned vehicle.”

Upon investigation of the area, authorities found a “deceased male in the woods some distance from the vehicle,” identified as Cole.

Cole had previously been wanted by the Lawrence Police Department for allegations of domestic violence. “Cole was last seen leaving Lawrence, Kansas South on US Highway 59 in his 2005 white Ford Explorer early on the morning of March 31,” they stated. “Cole missed an appointment with his representative to participate in a television program, which was unusual for him.”

The TV star, 27, was last seen in the early hours of March 31. After being missing for days, his body was sadly found in a wooded area about 43 miles southwest of Kansas City, Kansas.

The star’s body was found and identified on Friday, the Johnson County, Kansas, Sheriff’s Office confirmed, after being dispatched to the area in reference to an unoccupied vehicle. They found a “deceased male in a wooded area away from the vehicle.”

“I am deeply saddened to confirm that my son, Cole, has been found and is no longer with us,”  Yellowstone’s Moses Brings Plenty wrote on his Instagram, (Cole’s uncle) sharing a statement from the actor’s father.

“We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the prayers and positive thoughts you sent for Cole. We would also like to thank everyone who came to walk beside us as we searched for my son and provided the resources we needed to expand our search areas,” the statement continued.

“I learned this week how many people knew the goodness in Cole’s heart and loved him.”

The family then concluded by asking for privacy during the ‘incredibly difficult time’.

Brings Plenty’s death came days before police said they had “probable cause for his arrest” after an alleged domestic violence incident.

As well as appearing in two episodes of Yellowstone prequel 1923, the actor also appeared in the Western series Into the Wild Frontier and The Tall Tales of Jim Bridger.

Tributes pour in Cole Brings Plenty after his death

As Cole’s family shared the news, tributes came pouring in for the star on social media.

“All my Love and prayers to the family. Cole was a diamond in the rough. I loved him. May his journey to the other world be a good one. We will visit with him later on.. much love brother Moses,” wrote artist Mark Maggiori.

“I am so sorry to hear the tragic news, Mo. My love to you and all your family and friends,” wrote fellow 1923 star, Sebastian Roche.

“Truly the best & beautiful souls I’ve ever met. He comes from an amazing family. He was loving, passionate, funny, and loyal to his family traditions. Truly a one of a kind soul,” a third wrote.

Phirgun Mair Management also issued an official statement at the same time, expressing shock at the sudden departure of the male actor.

Cole Mang Plenty was known for his role as sheepherder Pete Plenty Clouds in the television series “1923,” which premiered at the end of 2022 on Paramount+. The series, themed around the American Wild West, also featured his grandfather, Mo Mang Plenty, known for his role in “Yellowstone.” Additionally, Cole appeared in the television show “Into the Wild Frontier” and worked as a model. Prior to his passing, he attended Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas.

The 27-year-old actor’s death occurred just a few days after he was reported missing. The last time he was seen was on Easter Sunday (March 31), but it wasn’t until April 2 that he was officially declared missing.

At that time, Mo (54 years old) shared a missing person poster on Instagram, stating that Cole was last seen on the evening of March 31 in a white Ford Explorer. He had a scheduled meeting with his representative for a television program on the same day but did not show up.

Hours after the veteran actor posted the missing person notice for his grandson, the Lawrence Police Department issued a statement linking Cole to allegations of domestic violence.

According to a press release, authorities received a call reporting a woman screaming in an apartment complex in the area on the morning of March 31. Preliminary investigations identified Cole as a suspect. Traffic camera footage showed the actor leaving the city shortly after the incident.

Authorities emphasized that they had reasonable grounds to arrest the young actor and issued warnings to units in the area. However, due to the sensitive nature of the allegations, officials kept detailed information about the domestic violence case confidential.

Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating to determine the cause of Cole Mang Plenty’s death.

Cole was the grandson of Mo Mang Plenty.
