Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger recently shared a light-hearted and entertaining exchange about fashion that highlighted their contrasting styles and mutual camaraderie.
During an interview, Schwarzenegger couldn’t help but admire Stallone’s impeccable blue blazer, which he speculated cost a whopping $10,000 from designer David August.
In contrast, Schwarzenegger sported his trusty old leather jacket, noting the difference in their sartorial choices.
Stallone, known for his meticulously curated suits, paired his sharp blazer with stylish alligator loafers. On the other hand, Schwarzenegger was content with his “old cowboy boots,” emphasizing their differing fashion philosophies.
After the interview, the fashion discussion continued outside the studio. Schwarzenegger noticed Stallone’s wife, Jennifer Flavin, holding alternative jackets for her husband.
Eager to confirm his earlier guess, Schwarzenegger exclaimed, “Let me see if it’s David August,” which it was, much to everyone’s amusement.
Stallone, taking the ribbing in stride, quipped, “He’s breaking my balls because you feel like dressing like the lowly one.”
This good-natured banter continued as Jennifer and Schwarzenegger both acknowledged Stallone’s superior wardrobe.
“Sly has nicer clothes than me,” Jennifer admitted, to which Schwarzenegger added, “Nicer clothes than all of us.”
The humor didn’t end there. Schwarzenegger recounted a story about visiting Stallone on set, where the “Rocky” star critiqued his loose-fitting shirts. Curious to improve his look, Schwarzenegger asked for advice.
Stallone then demonstrated his unique fashion hack, pulling down his pants to reveal that his shirt was secured with a piece that went underneath his crotch to keep it taut.
“It’s like diapers!” Schwarzenegger exclaimed, marveling at the lengths Stallone went to avoid wrinkles.
Stallone took it all in stride, laughing along with Schwarzenegger as he shared the amusing anecdote.
“So the shirt sticks down. Because God forbid you’re doing a movie and there’s a wrinkle in the shirt,” Schwarzenegger continued, emphasizing the absurdity of such meticulousness.
This playful exchange between the two icons not only showcased their enduring friendship but also provided a humorous glimpse into their differing approaches to fashion, proving that even Hollywood legends don’t take themselves too seriously.
