Aaron Judge has been the heart of the New York Yankees for a long time. But it has been an even longer time for the NY side to win a World Series. The last time they won the “Big Dance” was in 2009. They have not even made it to the World Series since then. Moreover, the Bronx Bombers had been going downhill. Last year, they could not even make the postseason. It was really horrible for the fans and especially for the team. But then they made some significant changes in the offseason. They brought in reinforcements for their offense.
Juan Soto has been the biggest addition to the roster. Then, Alex Verdugo and Trent Grisham joined the franchise, too. Since then, the Yankees have been looking like a powerhouse again. Most importantly, the Bronx Bombers are enjoying a hot start to the current ongoing season. They are leading the American League East division. However, the Baltimore Orioles are close behind them. Nevertheless, Aaron Judge believes they are about to do something special this season.
Yankees Captain Believes They Are Part Of Something Special In 2024
Currently, the Yankees are 36-17. They have the second-best record so far in the MLB this ongoing season. Moreover, they are still dominating their division, despite strong fight from the Baltimore Orioles. Lately, the Pinstripes are on a three-game winning streak. The NY side split the four-game series with the Seattle Mariners. Later, they beat the San Diego Padres in San Diego with a thumping 8-0 win in Game 1. On Friday, the Bronx Bombers silenced the crowd at Petco Park. Naturally, Aaron Judge was happy with the team’s blowout victory against the SD Padres. He smashed a home run, and along with him, the other two power hitters – Giancarlo Stanton and Juan Soto were on song as well.

The Big 3 power hitters took Yu Darvish to the cleaners in the third inning. It was the second time this season that the Big 3 smashed home runs in the same game. In the post-game interview with YES Network, Aaron Judge mentioned that everybody in the clubhouse is a big part. Adding to that, he said, “We are a big nine, we are a big 26, I’ll never point out to just three guys.” The Yankees captain credits every one of his teammates for starting their own ride in New York. Clearly, Aaron Judge says that they are part of something special for sure.
Aaron Judge Leads His Team In Homers And Praises Carlos Rodon
On Friday, Aaron Judge praised the team’s starting pitcher Carlos Rodon for throwing six scoreless innings. It helped the team win big. The captain mentioned that all Rodon’s pitches were working. In his good days, Judge feels, Rodon can put the sluggers on their heels. He saw the starter mix in a couple of change-ups in there. Judge said that was great.
Moreover, the 2022 AL MVP said Rodon was impressive from the jump. On top of that, it is important to talk about Judge’s resurgence this season. After an early season slump, Aaron Judge is currently leading the team in most home runs, despite Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton are in good form.
