Former First Lady of California, renowned journalist, and Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s ex-wife, Maria Shriver, celebrated her brothers on National Siblings Day.
The author took to Instagram to share rare images with her four brothers. However, Shriver didn’t just stop at sharing photos and wrote a heartfelt note to her siblings.
The 68-year-old appreciated her brothers and celebrated her relationship with them. “I want to shout out my four brothers, Bobby, Timothy Shriver, Mark K. Shriver, and Anthony K. Shriver. Four really good men.
Kind, fun, funny, loving, and protective of their only sister,” wrote Maria Shriver. However, she didn’t make their dynamic sound ideal for social media.
“Now because I have the space let me be clear,” said the JFK’s niece. “Growing up they tortured me. I will not go into the specifics,” confessed Schwarzenegger’s ex-wife.
Human relationships have ups and downs, and Shriver’s acknowledgment may have made it relatable for many of her fans.
However, “thankfully,” her brothers “grew out of that phase” long ago. “Now they are simply fabulous!” wrote Maria Shriver. The award-winning journalist also cherishes how their relationship has grown.
Shriver appreciated her brothers for making her laugh, being there for her, and “being amazing” to her children.
The mother of four shared many photographs which captured the five siblings throughout the decades. Maria Shriver shared everything from recent photographs to ones with their parents and even a black-and-white still from when they were kids. However, despite celebrating her siblings, she was also sincere toward others.

The sincere Maria Shriver
Maria Shriver confessed in her post that she cannot image her life without her four siblings. However, her heart went out to those who had lost theirs.
“I know many people my age have lost their siblings, so I’m deeply grateful to still have all of mine,” said the 68-year-old. Shriver is also determined to help others save their loved ones from incurable diseases like Alzheimer’s.
After losing her father to the disease, the journalist started an initiative to help fund research. After over a decade of establishing her movement, Maria Shriver went into business with her son Patrick.
The mother-son-duo started Mosh, a brain health-boosting protein bar company. Their goal is to constantly fund Alzheimer’s research through the money made from profits.
