Sports fans are losing their minds over a viral side-by-side image of Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink and Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani.
Ahead of Monday night’s home game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Shohei Ohtani’s Dodgers brought out Cameron Brink and Sparks teammate Rickea Jackson to throw out the first pitch.
Before the game started, the Dodgers posted a side-by-side photo of Brink and Ohtani standing together:
Fans were amazed by the similar size between the two superstars, who are both listed at 6-foot-4:
Brink was selected second overall by the Sparks in last month’s 2024 WNBA Draft, right after the Indiana Fever used the top pick on Caitlin Clark. In her WNBA debut, Brink tallied 11 points, two blocks and four assists in a 92-81 loss to the Atlanta Dream.
In her second WNBA game, Brink had three points, eight rebounds and five blocks in a close 89-92 loss to the Las Vegas Aces.
Shohei Ohtani, who signed a record-setting $700 million deal over 10 years with the Dodgers in the winter, entered Tuesday’s contest as the MLB leader in both batting average (.353) and hits (67).
Cameron Brink & Shohei Ohtani Making Impacts In Star-Studded LA Sports
No city in the United States features more superstar athletes than Los Angeles. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t take long for the two stars to make impacts on their respective teams.
Los Angeles features other all-world athletes like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Mookie Betts, Tyler Glasnow, Freddie Freeman, Mike Trout, Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, Justin Herbert, Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, Derwin James Jr., Anze Kopitar, Adrian Kempe, and Drew Doughty.
The Rams, Lakers and Dodgers alone have combined for three world championships in the 2020s decade. With Ohtani and Brink leading the way on the Dodgers and Sparks, respectively, the Los Angeles championship count is in a great spot to rapidly grow in the coming years.
