Before playing James Bond for the final time in the 2021 film No Time To Die, actor Daniel Craig, who is well-known for playing the character in the 007 franchise, participated in a total of five Bond films.
Since he departed from the franchise, there has been a great deal of interest in the upcoming James Bond film, which has led to the resurfacing of an interview with Amber Heard in which she expressed interest in playing the role.
No Time To Die was the twenty-fifth installment in the series, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga from a screenplay by Fukunaga, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Neal Purvis, and Robert Wade.
The movie had its premiere with members of the Royal Family in attendance at London’s Royal Albert Hall. It got favorable reviews from reviewers and viewers, becoming the third-highest-grossing Bond movie and the fourth-highest-grossing movie of 2021.
Amber Heard says she is ready to play the first female James Bond
Ahead of her 2018 movie Aquaman alongside Jason Momoa, Amber Heard during a conversation with ET’s Nischelle Turner, who asked Heard if she had any interest in playing the MI6 agent, to which the actress said,
“I’d do a great Bond! Hell yeah… I think I could. It’s about time.”
The question stemmed from the interviewer telling Heard that the audience had drawn comparisons between one of her scenes in Aquaman in which she plays Mera to the chase scene from Quantum of Solace.

Since Daniel Craig bowed out from the franchise, several actors have been considered to play the role, including Henry Cavill, Idris Elba, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Paul Mescal, etc., But there haven’t been any names of actresses that popped up actresses since the franchise collectively feels that the character of James Bond should be played by a male actor.
Daniel Craig is not on board with Amber Heard’s idea of a female James Bond
During an interview with Radio Times, Daniel Craig, who is one of the most celebrated James Bonds, was asked about his opinion on whether the franchise should opt for a female James Bond, to which he said,
“The answer to that is very simple. There should simply be better parts for women and actors of colour. Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?”
Actress Ana de Armas, who appeared in a small but significant role in No Time To Die, shared similar emotions. While she was promoting her movie Ghosted with Chris Evans, she was asked about who she thinks could be a great James Bond, to which she said to The Sun that Paul Mescal seemed ideal.

She also added when asked about her view on female James Bond,
“There’s no need for a female Bond. There shouldn’t be any need to steal someone else’s character, you know, to take over.
This is a novel, and it leads into this James Bond world and this fantasy of that universe where he’s at.
What I would like is that the female roles in the Bond films, even though Bond will continue to be a man, are brought to life in a different way.
That they’re given a more substantial part and recognition. That’s what I think is more interesting than flipping things.”
Franchise’s longtime producer Barbara Broccoli seemingly agrees with the actors by stating that Bond is a male character and should be played by a male actor.
Did Jason Momoa try to get Amber Heard fired from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom?
According to reports by IGN, when the trailer of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom dropped online, a couple of fans published the documents from Johnny Depp-Amber Heard’s defamation trial in which details about Jason Momoa appearing drunk on set, his attempts to get the actress fired and appearing as his ex-husband on set were mentioned.
The reports noted that the actress was almost fired from the movie, which is something that she said during her testimony as well, but she mentioned that it was because of Johnny Depp or the drama that surrounded them when in reality it was because there was no chemistry between the lead pair. It was confirmed by her agent during the trial.

“Jason Momoa conducted himself in a professional manner at all times on the set of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”
Talking about dressing up like Johnny Depp, it has been known that the actor has always dressed up in the bohemian style, which might be similar to Depp’s but has nothing to do with scaring the actress.
