Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger once revealed in his memoir that he regrets having several affairs while he was married to Maria Shriver. 

The actor, who also served as the 38th governor of California between 2003 and 2011, revealed that he had an affair with actress Brigitte Nielsen while he was dating and living with Maria Shriver back in 1985.

The actor realized after the “fling” that he wants to marry Shriver and the two got married in 1986. While Brigitte Nielsen went on to marry actor Sylvester Stallone in December 1985.

Schwarzenegger also opened up about his relationship with his housekeeper, Mildred Baena, which completely damaged his bond with his wife and kids.

Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger released his memoir called Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story back in 2012.

In the memoir, the actor revealed that he had an affair with his 1985 film Red Sonja‘s costar, Brigitte Nielsen, while he was dating and living with Maria Shriver.

He explained that the infidelity made him realize that he wants to marry Maria Shriver and he went on to marry her in 1986.

Brigitte Nielsen, who mentioned this affair in her 2011 memoir, got married to Sylvester Stallone in December 1985.

In the memoir, the actor mentioned another affair that ruined his relationship with his wife and kids. He admitted that he made a mistake by having an affair with his housekeeper Mildred Baena. In one of his interviews, the actor said it was his stupidest mistake,

“I think it was the stupidest thing I’ve done in the whole relationship. It was terrible. I inflicted tremendous pain on Maria and unbelievable pain on the kids.”

As per sources, Maria Shiver and Arnold Schwarzenegger ended their relationship back in 2011.

Back in May 2011, reports claimed that Schwarzenegger eventually admitted that he fathered son Joseph Baena with the family’s former housekeeper, Mildred ‘Patty’ Baena, while he was married to Shiver. Maria Shiver filed for divorce in 2011 and 10 years later, the divorce was officially finalized.

Their high net worths were reportedly the reason why their divorce took so long to get finalized. Schwarzenegger and Shriver reportedly share a $400 million fortune.
