After portraying the role of the 007 Agent across seven films, Connery made his final appearance as James Bond in the 1983 film Never Say Never Again. After departing the franchise, Connery went on to pursue further projects.

Back in 2001, Sean Connery was approached for the role of Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. As per Deccan Herald, Connery did not like the subject of the film and thus he turned down the offer.

The role was then offered to Irish actor Richard Harris who portrayed the role for the first two films. After the actor’s unexpected death, Michael Gambon replaced the actor and finished the franchise.

It would have been quite an iconic franchise if Connery had starred in the role of Professor Albus Dumbledore.

The Harry Potter franchise isn’t the only one that Sean Connery has refused over the years.

n an interview, the actor revealed that he refused Steven Speilberg’s Indiana Jones 4 because it didn’t work out!

Many fans were shocked to learn that Sean Connery and Harrison Ford did not reunite for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. 

Connery revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that Spielberg personally approached him for the movie but it didn’t work out!

“I spoke with Spielberg, but it didn’t work out. It was not that generous a part, worth getting back into the harness and go for.

And they had taken the story in a different line anyway, so the father of Indy was kind of really not that important. I had suggested they kill him in the movie, it would have taken care of it better.”

Sean Connery died in the year 2020 but his legacy as James Bond has been continued over the years. The actor was last seen in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen after which Connery retired from Hollywood.
