Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to a glorious morning here in Hollywood! I’m Steve Nissen, President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
For over 60 years, we’ve been overseeing the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame. Today, I’m thrilled to be both presenting and hosting as we welcome a new addition to the Walk of Fame.
But before we get started, let’s give a big shoutout to all our fans tuning in worldwide via our live stream, presented by our media partner Variety. And a special thanks to our sponsor Niagara, providing us with high-quality hydration. Thank you, Niagara!
The Hollywood Walk of Fame celebrates achievements in Motion Pictures, Radio, Live Theater, Live Performance, Sports Entertainment, Recording, and Television. Today, we’re honoring Macaulay Culkin, star number 2,765 on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
Before we invite Macaulay to the stage, let me share a bit about our honoree. Macaulay Culkin began his acting career at just four years old, making several small film appearances.
He rose to international stardom with his lead role in John Hughes’ film “Home Alone,” where he played Kevin McAllister, a resourceful child left behind when his family goes on vacation.
Macaulay received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in this iconic film, followed by its successful sequel, “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.”
His other notable film credits include “My Girl,” “The Good Son,” “Richie Rich,” and “Saved,” among others. On television, he’s appeared in shows like “Robot Chicken” and “American Horror Story.”
Macaulay is not only a talented actor but also a dedicated philanthropist, supporting charities like the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance and Stand Up to Cancer.
Now, without further ado, let’s hear from our special guests who have some words to share about Macaulay.
First up, we have Catherine O’Hara, known for her roles in “Schitt’s Creek,” “Best in Show,” and, of course, as Kevin McAllister’s forgetful mother in the “Home Alone” series.
