No Time to Die star Lashana Lynch has addressed whether her 00 agent will appear in the next James Bond movie.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight (via ComicBook.com), Lynch revealed that it was unlikely she would be back for the upcoming 26th installment in the long-running action spy franchise.
“Do you think people really want that? Do you think people are ready for that? I signed up for one movie. I did one, I literally don’t know anything about the next one,” she shared.
“I’ve not had a conversation. So yeah… It’s in their hands. It’s in the franchise’s hands.”

Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, 2021’s No Time to Die starts with James Bond (Daniel Craig) having left active service following the events of 2015’s Spectre.
However, his peace is short-lived when Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright), an old friend from the CIA, turns up asking for help, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
Lynch co-stars in No Time to Die as Nomi/007, a new 00 agent who entered active service following Bond’s retirement.
Jeffrey Wright Thinks a Black Actor Could Play Bond
While Lynch strongly implies that Nomi will not continue as the new 007 in Bond 26, Wright believes that a Black actor could still be cast as the next incarnation of James Bond, explaining, “I mean, it’s feasible. They’re out there now.
Those guys are out there now at the underbelly of all of this, yeah. So why not, if you find the right actor.”

Bond 26 Remains in Early Development
No Time to Die concluded Daniel Craig’s five-film run as the iconic 007. While fans are patiently awaiting any news regarding Bond 26, franchise producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have indicated that they are in no rush to cast the next iteration of the iconic spy, explaining that they need to figure out how to reinvent the franchise for the next generation before casting can begin.
The producing duo have previously stated that they will be looking for actors “in their 30s” for Bond, meaning that is it unlikely fan favorite picks like Henry Cavill and Idris Elba will land the coveted role. At the time of writing, the next James Bond film does not yet have a release date.
