He’s been an unstoppable force in Hollywood action films for almost 50 years.

And Sylvester Stallone proved that they don’t make ’em like they used to on Friday, when he posted a video to his Instagram Stories from deep in the set of his upcoming action action film Samaritan.

The Rambo star, 74, appeared atop a pile of rubble and broken wood, covered in dust and dirt with a (fake) bloody brow.

‘And as you can tell’ — here, he panned around showing the debris, chuckling — ‘…you would think I would have learned by now not to do my own stunts.’

Then, an almost wistful look comes over the septuagenarian action star’s grisly features.

‘But old habits die hard,’ he reasoned.

Then, Stallone proceeded to pick up a nearby sledgehammer.

‘Right? Right,’ he concluded, then giving a curt little thump of the sledgehammer in a manner not entirely unlike Thor.

The day prior, Sylvester posted a selfie to his Instagram feed, from the back and again featuring the sledgehammer – which may be his character’s weapon of choice in the new flick.

He captioned that still image with, ‘Working hard to make it work! Going extremely well…’

Samaritan, also starring Orange Is The New Black’s Dascha Polanco, tells the story of young boy who ‘learns that a superhero who was thought to have gone missing after an epic battle twenty years ago may in fact still be around,’ according to its IMDb page.

The flick is expected in June of next year.

Stallone, meanwhile, started his screen acting career in 1969, first getting bit parts like ‘stud’ and ‘subway thug’ in the early Seventies.

He broke big, of course, with 1976’s underdog classic boxing film Rocky, which scored him two Oscar nominations, for Best Actor as well as Best Screenplay.

Almost 40 years later Stallone defied the odds, and earned a third Academy Award nomination for again playing Rocky Balboa in a supporting role in the 2015 film Creed.
