The actor compared his debut in the world of series with the two films that catapulted him to international fame.
SLY BECOMES A MAFIA BOSS
Paramount Plus recently premiered in the United States the series Tulsa King , which has the great Sylvester Stallone in the main role, a mafia boss named Dwight “The General” Manfredi .
This series, which marks Sly’s debut in the series, takes us to Manfredi, who after 25 years of maintaining silence in prison, regains his freedom.
When he leaves, the mafia family for which he works, instead of giving him the welcome he deserves, sends him to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to take care of less relevant business.
In this city, The General will understand that the family does not have his best interests, so he decides that it is time to form his own mafia empire.
Taylor Sheridan , one of those responsible for the acclaimed Yellowstone, was in charge of creating the series. In addition to Stallone, the Tulsa King cast includes Andrea Savage (I’m Sorry), Max Casella (The Tender Bar), Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), Domenick Lombardozzi (The Irishman), Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire ), Jay Will (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), AC Peterson (Superman ois) with Garrett Hedlund (The United States vs. Billie Holiday) and Dana Delany (Body of Proof).
STALLONE SHINES IN HIS FIRST SERIES.
Stallone was recently interviewed by Brooklyn Magazine. The 76-year-old actor reviewed his acting career and acknowledged that he never thought he could work in a series.
One of the most striking details arose when Sly compared The Tulsa General King with his most emblematic characters, the boxer Rocky and the Vietnam veteran, Rambo .
“ I used to have to tell people that Rambo is an act. I’m not really that monosyllabic, dark and petulant.
I don’t sound like Rocky either. People always assumed that’s who I am. This character is liberating, because he is who I am. Dwight talks like I talk.
That’s how I move. And I thought, let me see if this works. If it bombs, then I know I have a shitty personality.
If it works, great, because I’ve been a class clown my whole life. Therefore, as a child I went to 13 schools in 12 years.
“I am very, very hyperactive and I thought I would give him this character to see if he flies ,” Stallone said.
