According to Antonio Brown’s CTESPN Network brand, the mercurial former wide receiver filed for bankruptcy on Monday. It was also noted that the Super Bowl 55 champion will release new music in the summer:
Details regarding the bankruptcy haven’t been specified, but we’ll provide more information when it becomes available.
According to Spotrac, Antonio Brown made $80.744 million in endorsement money during his NFL playing career. Brown played for the Pittsburgh Steelers (2010 to 2018), New England Patriots (one game in 2019) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2020 and 2021). He was briefly on the Oakland Raiders roster in 2019 following a trade from Pittsburgh, but they released Brown before the season started.
Since then, Brown has announced and unannounced his retirement through social media on multiple instances. But at this point, it’s obvious that he won’t play in the NFL again.
Antonio Brown’s Legal Troubles Continue
As previously noted, Antonio Brown’s dominance on the field was overshadowed by his long list of legal issues outside of football.
After forcing the Pittsburgh Steelers and Oakland Raiders to cut ties in an eight-month span, Brown signed with the New England Patriots in 2019. However, he was released after two women accused him of sexual assault and sexual misconduct.
In Jan. 2020, Brown and a friend were arrested for assaulting a truck driver outside his home. Brown was later ordered to pay the victim $1.2 million. And three times from Apr. to Oct. 2023, Brown was arrested for failing to complete child support payments.
