An NFL Christmas Day game has leaked online following the announcement of a partnership with Netflix.

Following speculation, which has aged pretty well, the league has announced a partnership with the streaming company that will see it air two Christmas Day games in 2024 and at least one game during the two seasons to follow.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be the first professional sports league to partner with Netflix to bring live games to fans around the world,” NFL Executive Vice President of Media Distribution Hans Schroeder said in a statement.

“The NFL on Christmas has become a tradition and to partner with Netflix, a service whose biggest day of the year is typically this holiday, is the perfect combination to grow this event globally for NFL fans.”

One Of The League’s Christmas Day Matchup Leaks Ahead Of The Full Schedule Release

Shortly after the announcement was made, NFL insider Jordan Schultz cited sources claiming the Pittsburgh Steelers would be hosting the Kansas City Chiefs in an NFL Christmas Day game.

“The #Steelers will host the #Chiefs in Week 17 on Christmas Day — a game that will be exclusively on Netflix,” he reported via Twitter/X.

The second NFL Christmas Day game hasn’t been announced yet—at least, it hasn’t leaked—but the league will release the full schedule on Wednesday night, so the wait isn’t going to be that long.

Former quarterback Boomer Esiason, who was recently released by CBS Sports, was one of the folks who predicted that the league would sell Christmas Day matchups to Netflix.

“Are you ready for this? This is what I think is going to happen. Could be wrong, but I don’t think I am,” he said last week. “Do not be surprised if the NFL and Netflix get in bed for nice little Christmas Day football games. I would not be surprised.”
