Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has an idea of who could play in the NFL from the OKC Thunder.
Patrick Mahomes knows a thing or two about football talent, which makes his recent praise for a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder especially flattering.
Mahomes was shown on video sharing thoughts with his wife Brittany about a Thunder player who he thinks could excel in the NFL. The video surfaced as a Chiefs undrafted free agent who could make the roster was spotlighted. A Josh Allen weapon was also named as a possible addition to the Chiefs.
Mahomes’ mention of the Thunder played has been viewed almost 500,000 times.
Mahomes’ Pick for Best NFL Thunder Player
Mahomes named Lu Dort, the Thunder’s 6-foot-4 guard, in the video shown below. Mahomes told Hubie Brown and another announcer that he said Dort could play linebacker.

Fans React to Chiefs QB Mahomes Comments
Dort is a Montreal, Canada native who weighs 220 pounds. He has averages of nearly 10 points and nearly 44 percent shooting from the field. He has a stronger build than Thunder stars Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren.
“The goat always right after all,” one fan said. “Got two consecutive rings that makes his argument valid.”
Another fan also agreed with Mahomes.
“Exactly! Very hard to disagree though.”
An unofficial poll shared by FanDuelTV found that almost 78 percent of respondents thought Dort could play linebacker in the NFL as of Saturday night.
Can Lu Dort play linebacker in the #NFL? 😅

“My goat is right,” another fan added.
Dort scored eight points, had two rebounds and two assists in the Thunder’s last game against the Mavericks. He had a -4 +/1 rating suggesting he still has a long way to go to be the type of impact player Coach Mark Daigneault and his Thunder teammates need him to be going forward.
The Chiefs, meanwhile, are focused on getting better in preparation for a three-peat. Mahomes threw for 4,183 yards last season and 27 touchdowns against 14 interceptions. The Chiefs appeared to play possum during the regular season before unleashing the dragon in the postseason, so to speak.
Mahomes and the Chief have another challenging season ahead of them, but the household name quarterback has plenty of time to get his body right in preparation for what should be another exciting year in the AFC West.
