Jayson Tatum has recently been under fire for his postseason performance. After a strong finish to the regular season, Tatum’s statistically underwhelming numbers prompted mass criticism of the Celtics forward.

But the Boston player looked relaxed before game 3 of the series against the Cleveland Cavaliers. In a recently surfaced video on social media, the 5-time NBA All-Star is seen dancing and lip-syncing to the beats of Drake’s “Family Matters”.

Amid the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, Jayson Tatum’s actions seemingly indicated his allegiance to the Canadian rapper. Drake is a renowned Raptors fan but has been seen attending Celtics games in the past. If Tatum is really team Drake, this won’t be the first time he has publicly voiced his support for the 5-time Grammy winner.

Forgotten Jayson Tatum Post Comes to Surface Amid Drake vs Lamar Feud

While many casual music listeners might think that the ongoing beef between the two music sensations started off when Lamar dissed Drake in Future’s song “Like That”, the reality is completely different. The heated feud between the two dates back to 2013 when Tatum was 15 years old.

At the 2013 BET Awards, Lamar seemingly dissed Drake during his cipher. While many were sure about that being the case, a young Tatum took to social media to post, “Lol I’m confused how did Kendrick diss Drake?”

Fast-forward to 2024, a more mature Tatum has a big chip on his shoulders to steer the Celtics through to the next round and possibly an 18th NBA championship. He fired back at the critics with a 33-point masterclass in a 106-93 win to extend the Celtics’ lead to 2-1. While the sparks in the rivalry between the two rappers are flying, Tatum has his own battle ahead to silence his critics once and for all.
