During a recent Mind The Game Podcast episode, LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers star player, gave some pro advice to current WNBA sensation Caitlin Clark. James mentioned that his advice applies to players of the same level and added that Clark should prepare and work on her practice to play better.
“My advice to Caitlin, and my advice to anyone that comes in with this level of notoriety, out-of-this-world expectation, whatever the case may be: Be a horse, man. The Kentucky Derby: put your blinders on, go to work, show up to work, punch your clock in, prepare yourself, work on your game, and work on your craft.” James added.
More People Want to Tune In: LeBron James
While discussing the topic with JJ Redick, the four-time NBA champion mentioned that Clark’s professional debut has increased interest in the WNBA.
“The one thing that I love that she is bringing to her sport is that more people want to watch and more people want to tune in. Don’t get it twisted, don’t get it f—ed up: Caitlin Clark is the reason why a lot of great things are going to happen for the WNBA.” James said.
James further mentioned that he had been in a similar condition during his debut, facing all the circumstances. He expressed hope that Clark would achieve great things.
“But I’m rooting for Caitlin because I’ve been in that seat before. I’ve walked that road before; I hope she kills it. I hope Aliyah Boston does amazing. I hope they do great.” James continued.
Clark has been in the spotlight more frequently due to her large fan base and outstanding gameplay. Recently, she achieved a significant milestone in just three games of her WNBA debut.
