Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs host Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks tonight. Here’s everything you need to know.
The San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks are both coming off thrilling wins over the weekend, but will have to get level-headed and put any emotions behind them ahead of Tuesday’s rivalry matchup in the Alamo City.
San Antonio (15-53) took down the Brooklyn Nets, 122-115, in overtime in Austin on Sunday after another big performance from rookie Victor Wembanyama.
The Mavs (39-29) knocked the Denver Nuggets down two spots from No. 1 in the Western Conference standings thanks to Kyrie Irving’s running left-handed floater at the buzzer for a 107-105 win in Dallas.
Luka Doncic and Co. have gotten the best of the Spurs in all three meetings this season. San Antonio will have to limit Dallas’ star-studded backcourt as much as humanly possible in order to avoid the four-game season sweep, but the frontcourt of Dereck Lively II, P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford against Wemby could be the deciding factor for who wins.
