The New York Giants are celebrating their 100th season this year, the fourth NFL franchise to be around after 100 years.
The New York Giants take tremendous pride in embracing tradition and celebrating the history of their franchise, which is why they kicked things off by launching their 100th season celebration Monday with the unveiling of their’ 100 seasons’ logo.
The team claims that the commemorative logo was “created to showcase the franchise’s rich history.” The zeros are modeled after the outline of Giants Stadium, and the background shield is influenced by the shape of the Polo Grounds, the team’s original home in 1925.
That was just the start of things to come.
On Thursday, the team further commemorated its 100th season by unveiling a “Century Red” uniform, which it will wear for up to two games in 2024.
The New York Giants have plenty of history attached to their name. They are one of the few franchises to have been owned by the same family (the Mara family) since their inception.
Despite the history, not many fans were feeling these uniforms at all:
Twice in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, the Giants donned their “Legacy Blue” uniform, which was in use from 1980 to 1999. Since the 2016 season, the Giants have worn the white “Color Rush” throwback uniforms at least once. With the “one-shell rule” lifted in 2023, New York modified its “Color Rush” uniform, per Giants.com.

What does the Giants’ 18-week path look like as they try to rebound from a disastrous 2023?
The New York Giants want to bounce back from a rough 2023 season where they went 6-11. In 2024, they have three primetime games, a trip to Germany, and another shot to beat an old division rival on Thanksgiving.
There’s little doubt the New York Giants face a critical season. The organization could undergo a significant overhaul if things are not corrected in 2024.
