The Teyana Taylor versus Iman Shumpert divorce case has taken another public twist.
The popular singer has her lawyer reportedly requesting that a child psychologist be allowed to testify in their divorce as the child psychologist will weigh in on an alleged recent “sleepover” Iman Shumpert allowed during his weekend with Junie and Rue, per TMZ.
Taylor and Iman Shumpert announced their split in September 2023, with Taylor filing for divorce in November 2023. Court documents report that Shumpert has the kids every first and third weekend of the month.
Taylor’s husband spent his parenting weekend with the children at home with a female friend and her daughter, according to court records. Taylor says that when her daughter saw Iman and his friend sharing a bed, she became confused. The “friend” was staying with Iman, he claimed, because her home was “broken.”
Teyana quietly filed for divorce from the former NBA player in January 2023 using their initials. However, when Iman Shumpert responded in court, he used their full names. This put their marriage, which she called “irretrievably broken,” in the public spotlight.
Back in September 2023 when she confirmed their separation, she claimed at the time they were still the “best of friends, great business partners, and… one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting.”
However, a divorce petition accused Iman Shumpert of exhibiting jealous, narcissistic traits, particularly about Teyana’s fame and career. Court documents obtained by TMZ claimed Shumpert is a jealous narcissist.
She further alleged that he got annoyed when he was asked to step out of frame when the pair got their picture taken at red carpet events.
Iman Shumpert And Teyana Taylor Were Once Couples Goals To Many Fans
The end of Iman Shumpert and Teyana Taylor’s marriage broke the hearts of several fans as they were once looked at as the couple’s goals.
The two met in 2011 but didn’t start dating until 2013. They would then go Instagram official in 2014 and make their red carpet debut at the 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards.
Things would move quickly as November 2015 would bring about an engagement and they would welcome their first child the very next month. They got married in September 2016 and wouldn’t have their second child until 2020.
