DJ Uiagalelei is a well-traveled young man in the college ranks.

Back in January, Florida State announced the addition of Oregon State transfer quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei who visited the program the month before.

Even though Uiagalelei is a graduate transfer to FSU, having enrolled at Clemson in 2020, he will be entitled to transfer as a graduate student immediately. Before his transfer, he had also considered a move to the NFL but he made the best decision to get more experience before that move.

DJ Uiagalelei is set to replace star Jordan Travis, who’s out of eligibility after five years at Florida State.

The 22-year-old is getting set to play his final year in college and he is coming in with some extra added weight. Earlier this week, the Florida State Seminoles got spring ball underway and DJ Uiagalelei’s body was very noticeable.

At one point, D.J. Uiagalelei weighed in at 265 pounds for Clemson but he dropped some 20 pounds and got down to 235. Those small days are over as D.J. Uiagalelei was 245 before he transferred but has gained some 10 pounds since arriving in Tallahassee and he is now weighing 255 pounds.

Nobody will be tackling him straight up in the 2024 season.

DJ Uiagalelei Entered Transfer Portal After Standout 2023 Season

Oregon State transfer quarterback DJ Uiagalelei had quite the statistical year last season for the Beavers.

Uiagalelei recorded 2,638 passing yards, 21 touchdowns, and seven interceptions for the Beavers while leading the team to an 8-5 record before entering the portal following the conclusion of the season, via ESPN.com. Uiagalelei spent his first three collegiate seasons with Clemson before transferring to Oregon State ahead of the 2023 season.

The former 5-star prospect now has one last shot to impress NFL scouts before he heads off to the league.

Will the extra weight hurt or hinder Uiagalelei as he gets set for his only season with the Florida State Seminoles? We’d love to hear your thoughts on the matter in the comment section.
