ESPN analyst Shannon Sharpe has offered his thoughts on the latest trending topic featuring Caleb Williams.

The former University of Southern California quarterback has been taking lots of flak after showing up to a USC women’s basketball game wearing pink nails, lip gloss, a pink iPhone, and a pink wallet, but has seen most of the folks in mainstream media speak out in his defense.

Robert Griffin III has even advised Chicago Bears fans to follow suit if Williams gets drafted by the team next month. NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt has also blasted Williams’ critics, calling them out for their “caveman” opinions.

Shannon Sharpe is the latest such personality to defend the former Heisman. Speaking on a recent episode of the ‘Nightcap’ podcast, the three-time Super Bowl winner wondered when men stopped caring about the way other men dressed.

People immediately comment on his nails and his cellphone, which is pink. When did men start caring about how men dress? What they wore? The pink nails, the pink phone,” he said. “When did men become so obsessed with other men? How do you get to determine what’s acceptable for someone else? Your norm is not someone else’s norm.”

Shannon Sharpe’s Take Shouldn’t Be Surprising

That Shannon Sharpe has lashed out at the folks criticizing Williams isn’t all that surprising. Sharpe has been fielding accusations of being gay himself over the last few months given all of the attention he has been getting since his controversial interview with comedian Katt Williams.

Sharpe, whose tight clothing and fondness of designer purses, as well as his public appearances alongside his gay stylist, has put him under the microscope, has denied that he is homosexual while noting that his haters keep him relevant and actually help him make money.
