LeBron James and his Lakers side were sent on vacation courtesy of the Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs. But that doesn’t mean LeBron won’t be taking interest in the Conference Finals. He went viral in the postseason after showing up in a Celtics vs Cavs game in the previous round. Now with the ECF underway, LeBron has some words of warning for anyone standing in the way of the Celtics, with the latest one being the Pacers.
Before the Eastern Conference Finals series opener, LeBron James talked about the Cs on “Mind The Game” podcast with co-host JJ Redick. Talking about why the Knicks failed against the Pacers, LeBron said, “From half-court standpoint, Jalen Brunson has the ball 97% of the time.” The former Heat forward then advocated in favor of the Celtics, explaining why the Boston side poses a tougher challenge to the Pacers. “Boston have four guys in their starting lineup who can handle the ball so you can’t just hide, you can’t point switch because they have multiple guys who can get them into the offense and also make plays either you fuc–d up a switch or a closeout game,” concluded LBJ. LeBron’s post-mortem of the Celtics game was spot on as the Pacers soon found out what the 4-time NBA Champion was talking about.
LeBron Reacts to Jaylen Brown’s Late 3
On Tuesday, the Celtics took a 1-0 lead in the series at TD Garden with a 133-128 win. The game was tied in the 4 quarters and overtime was required to separate the two sides after Jaylen Brown’s late 3 from the corner hit the mark to force OT.
LeBron, who kept a close eye on the proceedings, took to social media to post, “And yall still wanna know why I would foul up 3 EVERY SINGLE TIME??”
LeBron indicated at the moment where Pascal Siakam stopped right in front of Brown with 4.7 seconds on the clock in the fourth quarter and decided not to foul the Cs guard.
Hopefully the Pacers listened to the 39-year-old as the 2nd game of the series is on Thursday night at the same venue where his invaluable insights could come in handy.
