Taylor Swift’s decision to release multiple album versions immediately attracted the attention of the online community. Many people relate to Billie Eilish’s previous controversial statement about artists releasing too many physical album versions that affect the environment.

Eilish said: “People are denying their responsibility to protect the environment. I’m angry that I’m always doing my best, calling on everyone on the crew to get involved in protecting the environment, but some big artists release dozens of different vinyl versions, encouraging audiences to buy more. It’s frustrating because people only care about numbers and profits.”

Although Eilish did not directly mention anyone’s name, many fans thought that she was referring to Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Olivia Rodrigo … They are popular artists who often release multiple physical album versions.
Controversy aside, “The Tortured Poets Department” was expected to be a huge success. The album image has nostalgic black and white tones, promising romantic music and poetry.
Currently, the album has reached over 2 million pre-orders – an impressive number in the streaming era. Many believe that this will be an album that continues to help Taylor Swift claim the title of “queen of record sales”.

Taylor Swift kept her promise, posting an album cover image where she posed in black pajamas. She also teased the overall atmosphere of the album: “Everything is fair in love and poetry… The new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” is out April 19.
On February 5, Taylor Swift released the official list of 17 songs. Most notably, the fifth song is titled “So Long, London”, after Taylor Swift released “London Boy” on her album “Lover” years ago. Fans are also aware that Taylor Swift’s concert in Tampa, Florida as part of her Eras tour is her first appearance after the news of her breakup with Joe Alwyn, most likely this is what the song “Florida!” will appear on the new album.
During her performance in Tokyo on February 7, Taylor Swift revealed that she started working on the album two years ago, in early 2022. Many fans believe that the song “You’re Losing Me” from her album “Midnights” written on December 5, 2021 is the milestone of the end of her relationship with Joe Alwyn.
