Just days after the soft-launch of her first product, a cryptic message has appeared on a page for Meghan Markle’s new lifestyle brand.

Just days after the launch of the first product, Meghan Markle’s long-awaited new lifestyle brand has been hijacked by a Kate Middleton fan.

While its main US page appears as normal, the UK domain name for American Riviera Orchard has been co-opted by someone who has linked it to the Trussell Trust charity. Curiously, a message in support of the Princess of Wales is posted at the top of the call-out for donations.

When users click on the main home page, they are taken to the fundraising site, which reads: “not meghan. hope meghan wouldn’t mind. thoughts with catherine. X”.

Kate is currently undergoing treatment for cancer and is on indefinite leave from royal duties.

It then goes on to explain the purpose of the Trust, which is a UK-wide network of food banks, providing emergency food and support to people locked in poverty.

As of Friday, it had raised more than £9,000 ($17,000), well exceeding its £1,000 ($1940) target.

The charity organisation has confirmed it did not set up the page and had no prior knowledge to its existence.

Meghan first announced her new project last month with a mysterious teaser video posted to the American Riviera Orchard Instagram account, showing glimpses of her cooking and arranging flowers.

Sources at the time revealed that it will focus on home, garden, food and general lifestyle wares.

Earlier this week, the Duchess of Sussex soft-launched her first product, fresh strawberry jam, with close friends taking to Instagram to share pictures of the lavish packages, with-handwritten labels and nestled in a basket of lemons.
