The seven-time Grammy winner appeared in an interview with Pitchfork on YouTube in mid-2019 and discussed what prom meant for her, amid other topics. Starting with the viewpoint that proms were overrated, Eilish opined,
“It’s where the most beautiful girls get asked by the worst dudes to prom…Why is every pretty girl with a horrible-looking man, I don’t understand.”
With her peculiar sense of humor, the 21-year-old singer clarified that she is not body-shaming people, only to agree that she was actually. Billie Eilish continued,
“You give an ugly guy a chance, he thinks he rules the world. I swear to God, because they got a hot girl they can be horrible? Like you’re still ugly though.”
The LA-born star was pretty determined to critique any or all unpleasant-looking men. Therefore, she ended up with a questionable conclusion that eventually resulted in a controversy.

The singer was condemned by many for her ignorant comments on men’s bodies and looks. In continuation with her statement about ugly men partnering with beautiful women, Eilish added that it could be the reason for the former’s riches. She said,
“Maybe that’s why guys with small d***s get huge mansions. To make up for it, you know. Or like really nice cars.”
According to reports, Eilish herself has been subject to brutal scrutiny for her body, and clothing choices. The Bad Guy singer appeared in the ‘Power of Women’ issue of Variety where she addressed her dilemma of constantly being judged for her appearance. She said,
“Nobody ever says a thing about men’s bodies. If you’re muscular, cool. If you’re not, cool. If you’re rail thin, cool. If you have a dad bod, cool. If you’re pudgy, love it! Everybody’s happy with it.You know why? Because girls are nice. They don’t give a fuck because we see people for who they are!”
Owing to her statements on the bias of men’s and women’s body-shaming standards, several netizens were enraged. After her interview surfaced on Twitter, it sparked a fiery discussion on the matter, with many supporting her while others canceling her comments.
