The media continues to grill Shawn Levy about Taylor Swift’s rumored appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Deadpool & Wolverine is soon hitting theatres and Marvel Studios showed 9 minutes of the film to CinemaCon audiences.

The anticipation for Deadpool & Wolverine has been unprecedented, as Marvel fans can’t wait for the epic team up of Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. New footage from the film was shown at CinemaCon recently, and audience’s fear that Disney will water down Deadpool, immediately went out the window.

With Deadpool 3 being a multiversal adventure with Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, the film is expected to feature a interesting number of cameos from various characters and actors from the Marvel universe. The footage of the film at CinemaCon while teasing the audacious and hard-R tone of the film, did not reveal any spoilers or any cameos from the film

Director Shawn Levy was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight as he talked about how the film has turned out and what people can expect from the film. He was again asked about Taylor Swift‘s rumored appearance as Dazzler in the film. The director joked about how the reporter has the audacity to asked him that question as Reynolds will kill him if he says anything about the film. Levy said,

“I can’t even believe that you would dare ask me a question that you know I can’t answer. You know I can’t answer. All of America knows I can’t answer that. I will say as I said earlier here at CinemaCon. The proliferation of rumors about who is and isn’t in this movie is fabulous.

Because no one will ever know the truth until July 26th. That is hardly confirmed nor denied in this interview. I’m going to literally walk about of the frame and save myself, otherwise Ryan’s taking a hit [out] on me.”

It is weird that the media people keep on asking the same spoilery-questions that they know the filmmakers will never answer. Nevertheless, Levy knows how the studio works and wants no details of the film to be out before its release in July.

Shawn Levy made an appearance on CinemaCon to introduce audiences to the upcoming Deadpool film and show 9 minutes of footage from the film. Audiences were ecstatic with the footage as The Hollywood Reporter detailed how it evoked the biggest laugh from audiences at the event.

In an interview with Collider, Levy expressed his happiness at the wild reaction from audiences from watching the footage. He also revealed that those scenes are not even close to the funniest and insane scenes from the film. The fact that those scenes made such a big impact on audiences gave him and Kevin Feige more confidence about the film’s quality. He said,

“I didn’t want to show 90 seconds, I didn’t want to show a sizzle reel. We wanted to show a taste of the movie. We wanted to do it without spoilers. And yeah, it was a lot of set-up, it was a lot of first act type storytelling, but the fact that those scenes, which aren’t even near our funniest or our most insane, those jokes, and those moments played the way they did today, that was pretty thrilling. I was standing in the dark side of the theater with Kevin [Feige], and we had smiles on our faces seeing the way it was received.”

Levy also teased the masterstroke decision to make a popcorn bucket for the film, following the tradition started by Dune: Part Two. Along with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Deadpool & Wolverine will also star Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen.

Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit theatres on July 26, 2024.
